LCS Spring 2026 Grand Final recorded the lowest ever viewership, signaling continued decline in North America's League of Legends audience.

North America’s premier League of Legends league has reached a concerning milestone. The LCS Spring 2026 Grand Final registered a peak viewership of 183,152, marking the lowest in the league's history, according to recent data from Esports Charts.

This figure is approximately 32% lower than the Spring 2023 final, which enjoyed a peak of 271,376 viewers. This decline continues a troubling trend as this is the second consecutive split in 2026 where the LCS has not surpassed the 200,000-viewer threshold for its marquee event.

#How Did the Regular Season Perform?

The regular season statistics reveal equally troubling trends. Viewership hours totaled 3,326,297, which represents a 14.9% decrease compared to the previous year’s LTA North Split 2. The peak concurrent viewers during this period peaked at 86,608, down by 9.9%. Moreover, average viewership also dropped significantly, settling at 52,314, a drop of 23.6%.

The highest viewership during the regular season occurred during the match between Cloud9 and Team Liquid, which accounted for the 86,608 peak figure.

In the Grand Final, LYON decisively beat Team Liquid 3-0 to secure another title.

#What is Happening with International Audiences?

International audience engagement is declining as well. Notably, Portuguese-speaking viewers experienced a staggering 75% decrease in watch time.

#What Impact Did the Rebranding Have?

The LCS briefly transitioned to the name LTA North during a restructuring initiative aimed at revitalizing the Americas league system. Following the lack of significant improvement from this change, the league reverted to the LCS branding for the 2026 season.

North American League of Legends viewership has been in decline since its peak in 2017, a trend that has worsened in the post-pandemic landscape, as many audiences returning to in-person activities have not re-engaged with online streams.

Looking ahead, the LCS Summer Split for 2026 is set to commence on July 25, introducing a best-of-three regular season format along with expanded playoffs.
